Product Description

Ben Greenfield has gone on a quest to discover the greatest multivitamin on the face of the planet. And this is finally it. If you could only take one single supplement, then the Thorne Multi-Vitamin Elite would be the one.

The Multi-Vitamin Elite AM/PM Complex is not your typical multivitamin. Formulated with superior forms of vitamins and minerals, it is actually two unique formulations, with the complete simplicity of 3 capsules in the morning and 3 capsules in the evening. The AM formula is designed to support daytime energy, while the PM formula is designed to support better rest and recovery in the evening.

Some of the key unique characteristics of Multi-Vitamin Elite include:

  • Vitamins K1 and K2 – most multivitamins use only K1, but vitamin K2 is crucial for proper calcium metabolism.
  • Natural folate (5-MTHF) instead of folic acid (a large part of the population can’t even properly convert folic acid to folate)
  • Methylcobalamin instead of cyancobalamin. Methylcobalamin has been shown to be the better absorbed form of vitamin B12.
  • Chelated minerals to ensure optimal absorption of minerals so that you don’t make “expensive pee”.
  • Higher doses of magnesium and calcium than typically found in a multivitamin, which is especially important for athletes and exercise enthusiasts.
  • A unique form of the natural anti-inflammatory curcumin – Curcumin Phytosome (curcumin that has been complexed with phosphatidylcholine for superior bioavailability). This supports joint health and liver detox, gut health, and cardiovascular function by helping to maintain your body’s naturall inflammatory response.
  • A special form of green tea called Green Tea Phytosome (green tea complexed with phosphatidylcholine for superior bioavailability), which supplies the antioxidant, liver protective, and metabolic benefits of green tea, without all the caffeine.
  • Relora – a proprietary blend of plant extracts from Magnolia officinalis and Phellodendron amurense. This is included in the multivitamin formula to help you with relaxation, curb late-night food cravings, and balance  your cortisol and DHEA levels. Studies have demonstrated that the plant extracts in Relora help to increase salivary DHEA, manage stress-related eating, and help manage body weight. Study participants felt significantly more relaxed, less anxious, and better in control of their mood and stress-related eating habits when using Relora.

This is an incredibly unique multivitamin unlike any multivitamin that exists. To get the full details on the Thorne Multi-Vitamin Elite, read this groundbreaking article by Ben Greenfield, or watch the video below.

    Hi Ben,

From my understanding Multi-Vitamin Elite was designed with the athlete in mind. Is it still okay / safe to take if you’re not an athlete and using it for general health purposes?

    • Ben Greenfield

I am not a doctor, and you should always consult with your doctor before taking any supplements. I have no reason to beleive it would be unsafe for non-athletes though.

Hey Ben, I read a Q&A you did with Restwise and you mentioned ThorneFX. I also watched a YouTube interview yesterday with a THorneFX rep and a Lifetime Fitness rep. Sorry, can’t remember names. He mentioned several products i want to get on ASAP. Both mentioned ThorneFX product line and That website site does work. Where do I find all of the ThorneFX products? The AM/PM multi referenced above was one mentioned and I’m assuming its the same, but why is it not under the ThorneFX label? How do I find the other products under FX?

Do you use restwise or a different sleep system? Just noticed another sleep app you posted. Thanks so much in advance for your time!

Same company, same products. There was just some rebranding.

    Hi Ben,

I’m a 43 year old female high school teacher with 2 kids, and I’ve been listening to your podcast for years. You’re fantastic, I follow as much of your advice as possible and live a healthy lifestyle. Doc was impressed with my blood work. I am prone to stress, slightly hypothyroid (.88mcg synthroid), and I currently take k2, 5000iu of D3, ashwaganda, vitamin c,curcumin (Thorne)magnesium bc (Thorne)& glucosamine chondroitin (also Thorne), and I also take a green juice powder. In your opinion, how much of that should I discontinue if I add this multi? Or is there something else I’m missing? I eat fermented foods & sardines or salmon with bones daily also. Or, should I just keep doing what I’m doing?

    • Ben Greenfield

You could stop the D3, the C, the curcumin, and the magnesium. So you could simplify greatly if you add the muli. I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken, interpreted or construed as medical advice. Please talk with a licensed medical professional about this. These are just my own personal thoughts and not a prescription or a diagnosis or any form of health care whatsoever.

    Hi Ben,

I noticed there’s a very low amount of calcium in this product. Along with the Vitamin D3 & K2, is this enough calcium to maintain good bone health?

    • Ben Greenfield

Yes, it is, assuming you are loading the bones with weight bearing exercise, eating a non-acidic diet rich in minerals, etc. I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken, interpreted or construed as medical advice. Please talk with a licensed medical professional about this. These are just my own personal thoughts and not a prescription or a diagnosis or any form of health care whatsoever.

Definitely going to try this multivitamin out. Suggested dose is 6 capsules a day? 30 in each bottle would be 60 bucks every 10 days. A bit steep unless I read that wrong

    • Ben Greenfield

It definitely comes with enough for three in the morning, three in the evening to last you a month!

Do you prefer this multi or lifeshotz for adrenal fatigue?

Any need for ZMA at night if you are taking this AM/PM multi-vitamin?

    I’m currently taking a multi-vitamin, 5,000 IU Vitamin D, fish oil – morning

ZMA, probiotic, fish oil – night.

    • Ben Greenfield

Generally speaking, the answer to this question would be no. The Multi-Elite has 63 mg of the highly absorbable magnesium bisglycinate and 10 mg of Zinc bisglycinate. That said, there could be certain situations like a known mineral deficiency or extreme training volume that could warrant a higher dose of ZMA. In those cases, however, we would recommend a WFX blood test and consultation with a licensed professional.

    Hi Ben

    Great video!!

    A couple of questions.

    1) You mentioned that NSF was not the highest standard of supplements and that there’s an Australian organization. ( I forgot the name). Is this multi approved by that org? I only see NSF cert. label on the bottle

    2) I am not in any way an active person. But I am going through some GI issues and have some vit/mineral deficiency so looking for good supplements. Is this for athletes, mostly?

    • Ben Greenfield

As a manufacturer, Thorne has achieved all 3 levels of TGA (Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration) certification. Therefore, everything Thorne produces is TGA approved/certified. The Multi-Elite would be an excellent choice for anyone with vitamin or mineral deficiency, regardless of physical activity status.

My wife is nursing, can she take this product? If not do you have a multi vitamin recommendation for nursing moms?

I started taking the Exos Multivitamin Elite after you recommended in one of your podcasts. I’m one of those people that does not experience a dramatic change when taking supplements, except for creatine. But so far, I’m enjoying not having to load up on different supplements and having a multi with 5-MTHF instead of folic acid. I researched a similar one for kids and found one by Thorne Research as well. Would you recommend that or do the twins take a different one? I have 4 kids and one of them needs a focus/brain enhancement badly!!! Appreciate ALL you do, really!!!

    • Ben Greenfield

I would definitely recommend the Thorne multi, but my boys take these:

Is it ok to consume the CytoDetox if you have one amalgam filling in your mouth?

    • Ben Greenfield

Here's a response from Dr Pompa's team: We reccomend no more than 2 months on the product then break for 10 months before starting again. The creator of the Hydrolyzed Fragments does not recomend any long term heavy metal detox support past a couple months with amalgams remaining. As you clear heavy metals it is the accepted theory that your body sets up a concentration gradient as metals are moved out of the cell. After more than 2 months of "clearing the body" of more easily availble metals and toxins it's best not to go deeper into detox as metals may be mobilized with a source still in the body.

I used to take a multivitamin and have recently switched to a superfood method for vitamin/mineral consumption and was wondering if my regimen would contain all of the vitamins/minerals contained in this multivitamin or if I need to either add another superfood or switch back to taking a multivitamin (such as this one) instead of superfoods. I do know a multi would be a lot more convenient but I do not mind compiling my own superfood protein shake. Here is what superfood powders I am taking twice a day and for the most part I take ~1 teaspoon of each per shake. My base is Vega protein and I add the following: chlorella, spirulina, acai, maca, grass blend (barely/wheat/oat), turmeric, ashwaganda, astragalus, cacao, camu camu, and a mushroom blend (chaga/reishi/shiitake/maitake/cordyceps). Along with the superfood shake I eat a few Brazil nuts and goji berries. Thoughts or suggestions?

    • Ben Greenfield

Great job with the shake. Honestly, in my opinion, the only thing that you need to fill in the gaps here would be a good fish oil, a probiotic, and then, if you test with low blood levels of any of the vitamins, that is when you would add some of the vitamins in. I would also consider adding sea salt and creatine into your protocol, or you could go with trace liquid minerals and creatine.
