Product Description

LivingFuel SuperEssentials Omega Natural Fish Oil is the world’s most sophisticated fish oil supplement. Conventional fish oil supplements contain significantly more EPA than DHA (typically a 3:2 EPA:DHA ratio), however mounting research suggests that higher levels of DHA are optimal for human health, supporting this new 1:1 EPA:DHA ratio.

When it comes to omega-3 fatty acids, not all fish oils are created equal. The highest quality Omega-3 fats come from small fish that thrive in cold waters. Unfortunately, many of the supplements lining the aisles of health food stores contain inexpensive fish oils from large fish that swim in suspect waters. Plus, they often contain fillers and synthetic materials that can rob the body of nutrition.

While SuperEssentials Omega Natural Fish Oil does indeed contain ultra-pure fish oils in their natural trigylceride form (rather than the unnatural and harmful ethyl ester form), it also contains protective Omega-6 GLA from borage seed oil, the powerful antioxidants Vitamin D and Vitamin A, full-spectrum Vitamin E, and the super powerful carotenoid and anti-aging compound Astaxanthin. Is this ok to take if my blood pressure naturally runs on the lower side of normal (usually between 100/60 to 110/70)? I’ve read that fish oil lowers blood pressure.

    • Ben Greenfield

I reached out to LivingFuel with your question. Here is the response I got from KC Craichy Founder & CEO

"There is evidence that fish oil can help lower high-blood pressure but none that I am aware of that lowers normal or low-blood pressure. BTW, my wife's normal BP is 90/60 and she takes as many as 10 SuperEssentials Omega each day with no lowering effect. "

Of course, neither of us are doctors. You should not take this as medical advice, and you should double check with your doctor.

Is this product non-gmo? How about the capsule?

    • Ben Greenfield

SuperEssentials Omega is a non-GMO, and the capsule is a buffalo gelatin capsule.

Is this product generally considered safe to take during pregnancy? I know you can’t make medical claims or give medical advice…I would consult with my own doc, but just wondering if there’s any reason this would be a definite “no” to take while pregnant. Thanks!

    • Ben Greenfield

Yes, SuperEssentials Omega is not only safe for pregnant women, but highly recommended for them and their unborn babies!

    Hey Ben,

How does this product compare to to krill oil,

    specificallythe krill oil sold by

    • Ben Greenfield

Krill oil is good but when you compare the absorption of it to the absorption from a good fish oil just taking a little bit more of the good fish oil actually winds up saving you money over krill oil, in this particular super essential special has a whole bunch of other good stuff in it like antioxidants to keep the fish oil from spoiling, astaxanthin, etc.

I’ve been told to consume 6g of fish oils a day by my general practitioner. That would mean taking 50 pills a day. Is there another omega supplement you can recommend at higher doses.

    • Ben Greenfield

Each pill contains 1533mg– to get to 6g- you would need to take 4 pills per day.

Should I worth about the fish being wild caught? I like this but have concerns over mercury levels. What is the milligrams per capsule? (I’m not sure if I’m asking that question correctly). Thanks.

    • Ben Greenfield

It's a great question and should be asked of any fish oil supplement – the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies. The sardine/anchovy fish oils in SuperEssentials Omega 3EDA+ begin with fresh oils from young, wild-caught fish in cold pristine Northern Canadian waters. In addition, the fish oil is ultra-purified with a flash molecular distillation process that purifies, protects, and preserves the nutritional efficacy of the oils. Finally, each batch is rigorously tested ahead of encapsulation to ensure each batch is free of heavy metal or any other contamination. Enjoy the great benefits with great confidence!

Hi Ben…I have tried omega 3 oil from Nordic naturals but felt super bad on it. Gave me bad reflux and made me feel super nauseous. I trust you so much and what you stand for so i was hoping to get some of your omega 3 caps. Do u also ship to South Africa? Or would the caps not withstand that far shipping? I have been taking lots of hemp seeds but heard that they are higher in ALA just like flax and if the system is anyways compromised the conversion to dha and EPA won’t really work.

    • Ben Greenfield

The fish oil can withstand heat unless it's really, really hot like in a hot mailbox in Texas sitting in the afternoon. Having said that, we have had issues with SA for shipments so while we do ship, there may be customs and clearance issues so it could take a while to get it. Hope that helps.

Hi Ben.. how does it stand up to NOrdic Naturals EPA extra.… ?

    • Ben Greenfield

I can only vouch for SuperEssentials because I've gone into great detail researching the company and the product.

The video talks about the fish oil being damaged by heat. I live in Houston TX where it is very hot most of the year. Should I be concerned about damage being done to the oil during shipping when it is probably sitting on some hot trucks?

    • Ben Greenfield

Yes, unless you're getting the good stuff like this that is packaged with antioxidants and in a non-transparent bottle! Just get it into the fridge when it arrives.

How many should you take if you are a female and 120 pounds?

    • Ben Greenfield

2-4 is what I'd do! But I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken, interpreted or construed as medical advice. Please talk with a licensed medical professional about this. These are just my own personal thoughts and not a prescription or a diagnosis or any form of health care whatsoever.

I was taking a BAD fish oil pill once a day for a couple of years. Did some research and found out cheap fish oil pills are actually harmful so stop taking them all together. However, I kept hearing how essential they are for good health. Heard Ben discuss fish oil supplementation on one of his podcast and decided to try Super Essentials as he recommended. Not sure if it’s the placebo effect but I do feel better 3/4’s of the way into my first bottle taking one in the morning and one at night.

Any thoughts on: “the vitamin shoppe omega 3 fish oil? Its efficacy? Thanks

    • Ben Greenfield

Doesn't hold a candle to this…especially the cold processing, the astaxanthin, the antioxidants, etc. Remember BAD fish oil is worse for you than no fish oil at all!

How does this compare to Thorne’s Exos Omega 3 oil?

    • Ben Greenfield

The SuperEssentials fish oil is technically higher in antioxidants and astaxanthin. For this reason, I'm actually a BIGGER fan of SuperEssentials! But EXOS is also a good option, esp. if you are already ordering products from EXOS because you won't pay extra shipping.

should this be stored in the refrigerator?

    • Ben Greenfield

      Yes it should

Can you tell me the capsule size? My wife has trouble swallowing capsules; looking for a good quality fish oil that isn’t a horse pill. Thanks, PJB

    • Ben Greenfield

These fish oil capsules are not very large. I find that they're easy to swallow and they are very smooth too. Shouldn't be a problem.

I'm confused. How many come in a bottle? I'm 190lbs, so I'd need to take 8 of these a day. It says a monthly supply, so is that scalable? Help! How many do I need?

    • Ben Greenfield

This is Ben Greenfield. Take 2-3/day and eat a diet high in EPA/DHA. That's my recommendation and what I personally do, and I weigh 180. There are 120 capsules in a bottle.
